How to Get the Best Tongue Tie Release
Why do I think craniosacral therapy (CST) should be included in the tongue tie release journey?

When I try to explain “Why bodywork?” I imagine a big spider web.
“Ew, gross! That’s my mouth!”
The muscles and fascia surrounding the tongue, jaw, mouth, and face are all directly affected by the tightness of the frena in the mouth – they touch!
They’re Connected!
Opportunity for Amazingness
Think about it like this: The frenum under the tongue is the center of the web, and from there the web extends out. There are muscles that touch that center spot, but there are so many more joints, bones, muscles, and nerves that are affected indirectly. The fascia plays a big role in how all of those tissues are really connected and related.
For a full release of tension, which, if we’re being honest, is a huge reason for an adult release (the other being correct tongue mobility) the entire spider web needs a little assistance and encouragement with moving and grooving into this new, relaxed posture.
Full body health is the goal with bodywork that accompanies the release. Mouth health and an awesome release is where this begins. The body is strong and has great memory. The bodywork, especially craniosacral therapy, gives your body gentle reminders of its potential! We want it to forget the old ways and get comfortable getting relaxed.
Bodywork reminds the rest of the spider web of its capability and capacity and then guides it. It also gives it space for relaxation and repair on its own.
How awesome is that?! Your body is also really cool and wants to feel good and work efficiently for you. Bodywork trusts this concept and works WITH your body.
I love giving it this opportunity for amazingness! I feel it when I wake up without a headache, have awesome range of motion in my tongue, jaw, and neck, and feel comfortable resting my tongue on the roof of my mouth (it’s not natural to me yet, but I’m learning 
)

I’d like to know the timeline re: the treatments and how far out from frenectomy. Successive days, a week apart? Etc.

I’m so happy I found your video! I’m thinking about having this done as well. My tongue looks just like yours, and nobody has ever mentioned it to me before. Did you only look at a dentist? Or did you also look at doing it at a hospital?

No one diagnosed me until I saw my wonderful myofunctional therapist. I really diagnosed myself. I don’t see any provider in my town that is an expert on tongue ties. I found my dentist on the Adult Tongue Tie Support FB group. There are a lot of providers that release tongue ties, but there are not a lot of experts out there.
I learned a lot about people who say they can perform the release (and bill your insurance) and experts that really know their stuff and want to see improvement in your symptoms.
